Toyo Frame Custom SSCX

A seriously cool Toyo Frame single speed cyclocross bike shot a last Sunday's opening KNSCX race in Osaka

SDG taking care of the seating...

The ubiquitous Enve at the fork with gorgeous decals on the down tube...

Nitto stem with Sim Works bars...

Very cool straddle bridges...

But it's down at the drive where things get really sweet. Profile Racing BMX cranks...

Naturally pulling Profile Racing BMX hubs...

Possibly the coolest bike we've seen this year, and we've seen a fuckload of bikes this year. Follow Toyo Frame on their Instagram and Facebook for more of this kind of thing.

Trek Y11

A very pimp vintage Trek Y11 MTB spotted in Osaka last week...

With a seriously high end cockpit. Easton Monkey Lite bars, Thomson stem, Chris King headset, XTR pods and Hayes levers...

The less said about the locking technique the better...

F-i-N @ KNSCX Round 1

Brad has uploaded some gorgeous photos from last Sunday's race over on Fixed in Nara...

A Bicycle Journey

Our good friend Adam Bell recently sent us some photos of a restoration project he had been working on. A vintage Motobecane that definitely needed some love. The bike arrived to Adam in this state...

A few days of magic in Adam's kitchen/workshop...

And she was up and running...

Adam sent through some very nice detailed photos of the finished bike...

So what the hell does this have to do with Japan? Well after all his hard work Adam then sold the bike onto his friend Kitayama-san who lives up in Nagahama, Shiga prefecture and helps organise a local Tweed Picnic cycling event. He sent Adam some photos of the bike in it's new home...

A big thank you to Adam for sharing these photos and a little reminder that you can still buy Adam's superb Bicycle Dictionary and stunning new poster from Circles in Japan and many other good bike & book stores worldwide.

KNSCX Round 1 Osaka

Early start last Sunday, hooking up with the Chimon Family and F-i-N to head out to Osaka for the opening stage of the KNSCX season...

Dogs at cross!!
The race venue was the rather bleak industrial surroundings of Rinku Town...

Local CX legend Dave Hama recovered well after and early technical...

Hama time!

Switchbacks.

Barriers.

Mud.
The one they call the Street Viper was rullin' it out on the course...

The Viper.

Jump.
Some were taking it all rather seriously...

Rollin, rollin, rollin.
We shot a lot of bikes. Seriously, a LOT of bikes...

'Sonic.
As did F-i-N...

Getting that 'Gram.
Chiyo and Monica made some new friends...

Chiyo and Monica meet "Jack".
And caught up with some old ones, always good to see Andy and Toshio-san...

Dogs at cross 2!
Toshio managed to hide his disappointment at finishing 9th out of a field of 60 riders despite crashing and cutting his leg open!!...

How good does that Team Guell kit look?
A huge thank you to Mike, Yuka, Brad, Toshio and the whole Kansai Cyclocross crew. As usual we have a ton of photos from the day that will be posted here for infinity. It's basically gonna be 33c round here fore the foreseeable.

When Monica gives you that look it's time to stop shooting bikes and go home.
