Yu Takenouchi JPCX 2014 Elite Men

Yu Takenouchi, like a boss...

Ventana Restoration

We are always partial to a bit of vintage MTB action and this classic Ventana ticks every box. XTR drive, Middleburn cranks and those AMP forks are a beautiful blast from the past...

The Movement guys in Osaka recently worked their magic on this bike, read the full rundown over on the Movement blog.

MID #3

Hints Of Spring

A local cruise around Nara on Sunday with FiN. Starting out under drizzly skies at the Organic Market at JR Nara station...

Locked up for a lunch stop at the wonderful Apa Apa Cafe...

Then heading up to the park...

Where the very first signs of spring are showing with the plum blossom just starting to bloom...

The all important combini stop...

And the mandatory shika shot...

Pacer Action

Some shots taken at Nara Keirin earlier this month of the often overlooked yet very important part of the races, the pacer...

At Nara it is quite easy to get pictures of the pacer's bikes too. First a Samson...

And an Anchor...

Full Dura Ace of course...

Kyouhei Takeda Horivideo pt5

*AFFINITY CYCLES* Lo Pro

From Blue Lug, of course.

Crifford 6th - CX class -

Custom BMC @ KNS CX

A rather cool custom BMC Cross Machine spotted at the Kyoto CX race earlier this month...

We're always drawn to the interesting custom bikes and this one kind of ticked that box with it's Dura Ace cranks, XTR pedals and super nice K-Edge bash guard...

Another view, apologies for the blurred shots, there was snow on the lens and we had very cold fingers!

Bob Woods with the best shots.

Mount Wakakusa Night Ride

Out with the Guell crew last Friday night for the epic ride up Mount Wakakusa. As usual, night photography is not our strong point but we did get a few passable shots along the way...

A few minor bike adjustments as we rode through the deer park...

Light checks at the foot of the mountain...

And after the long, dark climb we were at the summit. The views across Nara made it worth the effort...

Toshio-san got some better group shots...

And then time for the descent back down to town...

Another one of Toshio's pictures...

Check out some much better photography over on the Guell Nara blog. Cheers to Toshio and the Guell crew for a fun night that took in dark rocky roads, snow, wind and wild boar. All accomplished on Friday the 13th, lucky for some!
