Out Of Town

Nara Koen.
A beautifully sunny day in Nara meant lots of day trippers in town. A perfect excuse to escape the crowds and head out into the country and ride up to the solitude of the Shirakawa Dam...

Combini stop.
Farm.
Bus Stop.

Solitude.

Bikes.
Bike.
A quick stop on the way back into Nara to photograph the sun going down, a perfect end to a chilled afternoon of riding.

Sun down.

X-Tremer, Osaka

We dropped into the cool X-Tremer Creative Bike Labo shop in Osaka last weekend. They specialise in MTB and custom builds. A relatively small shop crammed with stock, on the left hand side there are bikes, frames and builds in progress...

And the right side of the store is lined with cool parts and accessories...

Good to see the year of the camo still going strong with this Da Bomb Booster Saddle...

At the rear of the shop are cabinets packed full of lovely shiny parts...

A cool and friendly shop doing some nice custom builds, worth checking out when you are in town. Keep up with the shop via their shop blog.

Asuka MTB @ Miyazaki Cycle

A very rare, gorgeous, Nara built 1980's Asuka MTB lovingly restored at Miyazaki Cycle...

That headtube is worth the asking price alone!

Silbest Cycle, Kyoto

We dropped into one of the Kyoto branches of Slibest Cycle a couple of weeks ago. The staff were kind enough to let us take photos so we took quite a few...

The shop is big and very, very well stocked. A roadie paradise with frames and bikes from pretty much all the big European and American brands...

Not just road bikes, there are some pricey looking cross and tri bikes too...

And more frames that you can shake a stick at...

The same goes for the wheels...

And equally well stocked parts, accessories and clothing...

With some funky custom local team jerseys hanging above the bikes...

A big shop with a mind blowing amount of stock, the staff are friendly and knowledgable. The one stop shop for all your roadie needs, worth checking out when in town. Keep up with the Silbest stores via their Facebook page.
