Miyazaki Cycle Osaka

OK, here we go, as promised the photos we took at the brilliant Miyazaki Cycle shop last Saturday...

When there is a vintage Amicus on display outside a shop, you just know you are in for a treat...

Inside the shop is a jaw dropping array of vintage bikes, frames, cycling memorabilia and collectables...

Shop owner Miyazaki-san who is an ex professional keirin racer was very welcoming and kindly answered our questions and let us take photographs...

Everywhere you looked there was something to photograph, this Baramon track bike hanging in the window for example...

...While  the main display stand is full of rare and interesting bikes. The most noticeable would undoubtedly be this 1970's National bike that apparently set a speed record of 204km/h...

Just check out that big ring!..

Next to that there is a beautiful Cherubim track bike...

...And tucked in behind that there is a rare custom ordered Nakagawa MTB...

All around the shop there are beautiful bikes in various stages of restoration such as this classic Centurion roadie...

And, of course there are frames, so many nice frames...

With our personal favorite being this Kumamon themed road frame...

 Obviously frames need parts and there are many, from pedals...

..To cranks...

...From rims and wheels...

...To bars...

And you just know the workshop area is going to be interesting too...

...With one of the nicest trueing stands we have seen...

Even outside the shop there are bikes being restored...

Then there are the boxes of parts that are dotted about the place, a veritable Aladdin's cave of cycling history..

 

An amazing shop, we could spend hours there just checking out all the wonderful stock. Owner Miyazaki-san is friendly and informative and quite obviously passionate about his work. Well worth a visit when you find yourself in town or keep up to date with the shop's projects by following their brilliant shop blog. A big thank you to Miyazaki-san!
