Kon's Cycle Kyoto

While out in Kyoto last Sunday we chanced upon the Takoyakushi branch of Kon's Cycle. From the array of bikes and accessories inside we almost filled a memory card with photos! Here is just a selection of the goodies to be found in the shop...

Kon's Cycle Takoyakushi,  Kyoto

Bruno Mini Velos lined up outside.
Inside the store is an Aladdin's cave of serious bike want...

...From vintage BMX bikes for display purposes...

...To some rare and collectable roadie frames tucked away in the corner (there is a 3Rensho hiding behind that Colnago!)...

And the stock frames are just as desirable, Surly's, Leader's and Affinity frames all lined up and ready to be built...

Just hanging from the ceiling are some mouth watering builds, this custom aluminium Panasonic roadie for example...

...Or this simply stunning Ridley Oval build...

Moving further into the store, the want just keeps on coming. We were not expecting to see This beautiful The Light Blue Trinity track frame, all the way from Cambridge, England to downtown Kyoto, Japan!..

The Light Blue
Then there are the limited editions and one off bikes, this custom painted Leader 725 for example...

... Or how about a BLB Notorious 05 carbon batton front wheel?..

This photo does not quite reflect the jaw dropping coolness of this very limited Tange x Quicksilver Vandal Star fixie...

...Or this stunning Tange Impetus track bike...

Same goes for these uber cool custom  Leader x Pedal Consumption Renovatio and Kegero bikes...

...Or this custom Surly Pacer build...

And, of course the shop is packed out with a huge selection of desirable parts from rims and wheels...

...To saddles and bars...

And you would expect a cool shop to have a cool logo...

A brilliant store and just one out of the eleven Kon's Cycle branches dotted around Kyoto. A must visit for any cyclist when in town. We leave you with a monkey on a tricycle...
