After two days of rain, wind and hail here in Nara the sun broke through the clouds just before sunset today giving us a chance to jump on the bike and take a spin over to the
Heijo palace...

On the way to the palace we cycled by the Sahogawa river where local schoolkids have decorated lanterns that have been hung along the river to mark the
spring equinox...
Over at the palace a welcome bit of evening sunshine was warming us up and drying out the ground...
...And there were a few signs of early cherry blossom on the trees...
Hopefully the weekend will bring us some better weather and we can get out on a longer ride!
