Guell Shiga Night Ride

Last Saturday we joined the Guell Crew for a night ride. We loaded up Toshio-san's truck and drove up to the Guell Shiga store for a ride around Lake Biwa...

One of the reasons for the ride was to "attack the bridge", that is the Omiohashi bridge that spans Lake Biwa, the idea being to beat times set on the Strava App. Toshio, Toepfer and the Guell crew blasted over the bridge setting an impressive pace...

...And they're off!

Somewhere in the distance are the Guell crew!

....Then we caught up with them on the other side of the bridge, somewhat the worse for wear...

Their efforts were not in vain though, both Toshio and Toepfer now stand at number eight in the bridge time trial rankings on Strava...

Then we rode back through the quiet, dark and surprisingly smooth Shiga streets....

Heading for the wonderful Delta Cafe for a late dinner and some impromptu Aerosmith karaoke from Big Teopfer!

After that another spin through the deserted streets heading back to Guell Shiga...

Back at the Shiga shop.

Then to load up Toshio's truck for the drive back to Nara...

The Load Out!

A great night had by all. Some fast riding, quiet streets, good food and some rather dodgy singing! Arigato Toshio-san and the Guell crew!
